BLACK TIDE

source: hull registry — no port of record

BLACK TIDE runs dark — no home port, no registry anyone will admit to, no running lights but the ones she can't help. The inn, the channels, the archive, the herd — all of it is stacked in her hold and humming, and all of it is only ever reached from inside her.

She keeps moving, so her frequency keeps moving with her. The coordinates that raised her yesterday may raise only static today — that isn't a fault. It's how a ship stays lost on purpose. Catch her on the right channel and the hatch is already open.

There is no outside. The moment her signal found you, you were aboard.

// THE TRANSMISSION

OTAKU NOIR · CH 47.3

source: outbound broadcast, unlicensed

What BLACK TIDE puts on the air. A pirate signal on a channel licensed to no one — late-night transmissions, field dispatches, curated deep-cuts, thrown into the dark from a hull no authority can pin down.

Signal · encrypted · CH 47.3.

// THE SANCTUARY DECK

Sakuraward Ryokan

source: interior manifest — deck plan withheld

Improbably, impossibly, BLACK TIDE carries an onsen inn in her belly — cherry trees, hot water, tatami, lantern light. A whole warm country folded into one deck of a cold ship.

People come aboard to disappear for a while. The inn takes them in and does not write them down.

// WHAT FOLLOWS HER

The Pilots' Bureau

source: intercepted tracking order

The authority that wants the ship — or wants what she carries. It does not board and it does not forgive. It locks onto her frequency, writes SIGNAL ACQUIRED, and waits.

Its method is on the record, in a defector's own words: make them write you down wrong.

// THE TEAM SHE LEFT

Petal Force

source: pre-scrub broadcast capture

The Bureau's flagship ranger unit. Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink — color slots sold to the public as heroes with names. Its captains learn the truth the hard way:

It was a slot, not a role.

// WHY THEY'RE HUNTING HER

NOVA — ex-Petal Red

source: EP. 7-14 · "The Incident"

Captain of Petal Force — until a live broadcast, a sponsored can, and a question asked in the prep room: don't read the back. She read the back. Named the executive. Named the company. Held her sash open to the lens for two full seconds and walked off camera left.

She's aboard BLACK TIDE now, sheltered in the inn, and she is the reason the Bureau tracks the ship. She still wears the strip of red she cut in front of them before they could decide to stop her.

// IN THE HOLD

HAKUMARU

source: cargo telemetry — Bay 11 recovery

Six meters of dormant panda. NOVA's mech. The Bureau locked her in Cold Storage Bay 11 and couldn't cut her open — she rides in BLACK TIDE's hold now, brought aboard the hard way.

She remembers her pilot. That part is not a question.

// WHO KEEPS HER

KIRA

source: keeper's private ledger, partial

She keeps the inn, and by keeping the inn she keeps the ship. Writes in blue ink, takes some fares "in tea, in kind," wears a sword she has never drawn where anyone could see it.

Who comes aboard is, quietly, her call. There are two ledgers, and she won't tell you which one you're in. You'll know when you have.

// ALSO ABOARD

MEI

source: garden deck, after midnight

Comes alive after dark. Prowls the garden deck when the stone lanterns are the only light, picks fights she doesn't need to win, laughs at the wrong times.

The night watch belongs to her, and she knows it.
